Fridays in Cambridge, Massachusetts
Baroque and More 11:00-12:30 Fridays at CMS
Come and play renaissance and baroque music. We will mostly do in depth work while leaving a little room for sight reading.  Open to recorders, flutes, oboes, violins, voices, harpsichord, lutes, cellos, viols etc.

Madrigal Feast  3:00-4:30 Fridays at CMS
We will play satisfying quartets of English Madrigals, Baroque arrangements and seasonal music.  Cut time and meter changes will be introduced through renaissance music.  A good ensemble to cut your teeth on and a perfect opportunity to get comfortable switching fingerings.

Performance Ensemble 6:30-8:00 Fridays at CMS
Emphasis will be on ensemble playing and learning to respond to each other’s articulations, phrasing and improvisations. Our repertoire extends from the Middle Ages through to contemporary music. We will also be playing on a set of renaissance instruments with historical fingerings. Audition only

VIRTUAL CLASSES

Technique Class
Monday and Thursday
9:30-10:00 Am EST

Add structure to your life and practice routine! 15 minute all level warm ups and then 15 minutes of technique derived from current Music-Minus-One play along pieces. After doing the warm-ups together, you will be motivated and inspired to practice on your own.  Practicing at the same time every day establishes a routine that eliminates the anxiety of repeatedly trying to find a time and guilt of not getting to it.  These days especially call for some grounding routines. Long tones, finger placement, low and high note exercises, articulation and a new surprise every day.  Warm ups are appropriate for all levels with special challenges for more advanced players.
